Its a hobbed-type pinion where the outside diameter and hob diameter are both 14 mm. The gear is hobbed for the 10 mm face width and then has a cutter runout. This helps to reduce wobble when the spur gear is in use. This gear complies with DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung, or the German Institute of Standardisation) 3962, relating to the tolerances for cylindrical gear teeth.
