It will self-rupture so can withstand the high pressure generated during short-circuiting. With a gG rating (general purpose), It will take between two to five seconds at five times the rated current to blow, and between 0.1 to 0.2 seconds at ten times the rated current. The size is 3B. Engineers have stringently tested this British standard fuse to ensure durability and consistency.
